Resume Scanning Software? Screw That.

You’ve got job search questions.
And I’ve got Guerrilla answers …
Question: How do Guerrilla Resumes work with computer programs that scan resumes? How do I get past them?
Answer: This is like asking, “I’m on the two-yard line and the other team has 11 men defending against the run. The other team always stops the run. How can I best run the ball and score?”
Well … who said you had to run to score? Why not PASS?
In non-football terms, if you’re afraid your resume will get stopped by computer scanners, why not “pass” them by and get your resume into the hands of a live human?
Avoid computers and you can avoid the problem of scanner “gatekeepers” altogether. 
Everyone submits resumes by email. And everybody is struggling to find a job these days. Does it seem like a good idea to do what everybody else is doing?
Nowhere in any of my Guerrilla Job Search tips are computers mentioned. Your odds stink when you let computer scanners or web sites get between you and your employer.
Do whatever it takes to avoid computer scanners.
Guerrilla Job Hunters who land jobs hand their resumes directly to hiring managers in person, print and mail them in full color, or (last and least) send them by email.

But don’t put yourself into a position where you need to submit a text resume. If you do, you’re lumping yourself in with the hordes of ordinary job seekers.
